COVID-19 RELIEF EFFORTS

 

IN 2019, The NYC motorcycling community WORKED with a number of organizations to deliver PPE and other supplies to medical professionals.

Face Mask Aid NYC

Engines for Change volunteers helped to deliver home-sewn masks to medical personnel and other people who needed them when none were available throughout the city.

Motoveli + Masks for Docs

Motoveli worked with Masks For Docs to drive leads, pick up, and deliver Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to hospitals and individuals around NYC.

John Saponara + Bednark

Photographer and motorcyclist John Saponara worked with Bednark to produce face shields for medical professionals. During this process, he also documented the workers, many of whom were laid off from their regular jobs due to COVID and the economy.

Sew the Curve Flat

Sew The Curve Flat organized and aggregated home sewists and matched them with hospitals and at-risk communities to provide supplemental PPE. Individuals within the motorcycling community worked with this group.

Project N95 (National)

The national clearinghouse to connect healthcare providers with critical equipment.


Get Us PPE (National)

#GetUsPPE is working to build a national, centralized platform to enable communities to get PPE to healthcare providers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Team Rubicon (National)

A 501(c)3 nonprofit that utilizes the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. To help with COVID-19, Team Rubicon launched the #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors initiative to meet the needs of our communities through safe individual acts of service. 


NYC Makes PPE (NYC)

NYC Makes PPE provides PPE to underserved healthcare workers and organizations in NYC. Healthcare workers in need of PPE can request it through their website.


Mask Force NYC (NYC)

Mask Force NYC is an initiative through RETI Center to fund and supply personal protective equipment (PPE) to healthcare workers. They source PPE directly from the factories and have it delivered on a weekly basis.


Mutual Aid (NYC)

A network of groups organizing to provide aid and support to New Yorkers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sign up as a volunteer delivery driver here.


Make the Road New York (NYC)

Make the Road New York builds the power of immigrant and working class communities to achieve dignity and justice.


N95 Masks for NYC Hospitals (NYC)

A group of NYC professionals that have established a mutual aid group to secure resources and support for NYC medical workers.


Bed-Stuy Strong (Brooklyn, NYC)

A mutual aid network of over 2,500 volunteers and neighbors from across Bed-Stuy who are supporting their community during the COVID-19 crisis.
